Sharing some pics here of recent allovers that have come and gone since my last post.
First up: This shop sample from Karen's Quilt Shop. This is the top, but I really loved...
...the back. Isn't it cool?? As you can see, I just did a geometric pattern in keeping with the top.
A close up (of the back!!) to show the quilting. Those darn birds are adorable!!
This one has a bit of sad back story. Customer called and needed this quilted right away for a little girl who was very sick. Luckily I was between quilts and was able to do it for her that day! I hope she liked it!
This was just a simple loop allover--the style of quilting I recommend for kids quilts. After all, they won't appreciate the quilting, but they will love the quilt.
Clara made this one for her kids in Alaska, if I remember correctly. She had seen an allover with leaves that I'd done for Karen's shop and asked me to do the same on this one.
Ginny wanted to use this fabric to make a jacket and asked me to quilt leaves all over it. I ran into her the other day and she reported it was the first time she'd finished a jacket in a day. I'm thinking having the fabric pre-quilted helped!!!
More custom stuff up next...

Its a Test!!
Do you see it? My mistake???
I'm just home from a retreat where this was one of four quilts I finished. At least I thought I'd finished until I saw this photo. I even hung this up at the retreat and no one spotted it.
I didn't see it until just now...Do you?????

A Rose Quilt for September Rose
September Rose isn't here yet, but when she is she'll have this lovely quilt to lie on. Isn't it pretty? And I love her name--I wonder if they'll call her Rose??
Although this is a baby quilt, I decided to cc the center squares to give it a bit more interest than the usual loops I do on baby quilts. Plus, it framed the roses!
And here's a quick shot of the back which shows the loops in the outside border, "e's" and "l's" in the vertical sashing and the back of the CC's.
And now its time for me to do some more quilting! And, who knows, maybe even some more posting???

Pioneer Sampler
This is Leslie's Pioneer Sampler. using Eleanor Burns' pattern. She's a newer quilter, but boy is she catching on. Good fabric choices (way better than what I usually make), good piecing and pressing. She's quickly becoming another favorite to quilt for. Plus, she has such enthusiasm. I love it!!
I love the traditional fabrics she chose, the quilt has such rich colors. I won't bore you with my quilting ideas, but leave you with feathers--lots of feathers everywhere.
This is a shot of the corner. If you look closely you can see the feathers in the corner with the piano keys (look in the red bit) and CC's.
And the back, which shows this perfectly. The fabric is a gorgeous green. not this weird color that showed up. (I'm thinking I might need a new camera--or maybe just someone who knows how to take pictures????)
Here are a few more shots of the back. I love how the quilting looks on the back--its my favorite part! The green in the first one is a bit more true.
Thanks for having a look!!

Another Crazy Quilt
Remember Jennifer's crazy quilt and how she's making one for each of her grandkids? Well, this is her second one. Its a bit different, the sashing is smaller and it doesn't have a border, but its basically the same quilt. I did quilt it differently, though.
Originally, I did feathers in the sashing, but since this sashing was only 2" wide, I did my "heatwave" to offset the blocks.
And here's a shot of the back. I've often heard that you should never use sheets for the back; however, Jennifer did with this one. She tells me that she'll often use old sheets. This one was old and it stitched just fine.
I thinks she's working on another one of these--if so, you'll see that one too.
