Anna's Summer Solstice Quilt

I first saw this quilt when Anna brought it into the shop to show everyone. She'd purchased the pattern and fabrics at Karen's and wanted to show her how beautifully it had turned out.  I've done some quilting for Anna in the past, but I never assume that a customer will continue to use me. Imagine my pleasure when I told Anna she'd have to bring it in after it was quilted and her response was, "That shouldn't be hard since you'll be quilting it."  Made me a happy camper (quilter?).

Crazy Horse Quilting

I knew that with these fabrics, there were many places that the quilting really would only add texture, but then there were those light colored rectangles that were calling to me.

Below are some more pics of the quilting--I did lines and ribbon candy in those great rectangles, CC's in the center and outer diamonds, quilting to make the Celtic patterns have more texture and a few other fun designs.  Have a look:

First the center. I really debated with myself about doing more in that center star, but as you can see, I chickened out.

Then the linework. I wanted to make this quilting stand out without taking away from the beauty of the quilt. I love how it turned out.

The corners had the busy Celtic knot pattern, so it seemed that continues curves following the design just worked.

And what post is complete without at least a couple shots of the back of the quilt??

This looks a little odd, but it was the quilting behind the Celtic designs...it worked--on the front.

The back of the center star:

And a few shots of the linework and continue curves.

And finally, because he insisted, a shot of Dash who refused to move until his photo was taken! Silly dog!!

Thanks for looking!
