Wow...or should I say "whew"! This quilt was a challenge for me, and I loved every minute of it. Well, maybe not the minutes when I was panicking about what to put in the border, but otherwise, it was super fun! This is my second Lori Holt quilt and I have to say, I love her patterns! I especially love when they're not made with 30s fabrics...but that's just me!
The border, as you can see from the pic above, was 8" of a tone-on-tone white. All that white space in a border has so much potential and such a big "what do I do now?" bit, that it took me awhile to come up with a design. And then, I did it in pieces. The final product looked like this:
There was a lot of marking, measuring and ruler work, but I like how it turned out. The decision to do the echo border around the design, was the best decision yet. And the sashing design echoing the border--well, it almost makes me look like I know what I'm doing!!! <grin>
Following are pics of all the blocks in the quilt. I know, pic heavy, but I couldn't decide which ones to leave out, so you get them all! Remember, if you want to see the quilting in detail, you can click on the pic--just hit "escape" to get back to the blog.
Ready???
And I couldn't sign off without a few of the back...
