Another Underground Railroad Quilt

Leslie made this UGRR with traditional fabrics? Do you remember her modern one? Click HERE and you can compare and contrast. Which do you like better?

Below are a few pics of the blocks from the top...I've done so many of these its always a brain stretch to come up with new ideas. Leslie wanted traditional with lots of feathers, so I did my best.

And here are a ton of pics of the back--where the quilting showed the best. As usual, the depicted color of the fabric has nothing to do with the real color. Not sure what's up with that, but the quilting shows and that's the important part!

Okay, I'll stop now...but I really do love quilting these traditional blocks!

  1. This quilt is beautiful! I have to say, I think I prefer the traditional fabric on this quilt. My students are fascinated with Underground Railroad quilt blocks. Is there a pattern for this quilt?

    1. Hi Laura, you can get the book containing the pattern from Eleanor Burns. She is the creator of the pattern and has a shop near San Diego. You can also purchase online and several quilt stores will have it as well. She's pretty popular.
